This new class allows an adult to spend quality time with a special youngster to share a memorable baking experience. The next class in the series is based on cake making. However, if you want to get technical, one is a cake and the other, a sponge!
Working as a pair, you will make a Red Velvet Cake and a Swiss Roll (this is the sponge!). We don’t use fancy equipment during our courses so that you can continue to bake at home. Whilst you mix and whisk your ingredients by hand, we will explain to you the differences between cakes and sponges and also give you lots of tips for you to use at home. You will make your Red Velvet Cake first, then as this bakes you will work on whisking your Swiss Roll. The Swiss Roll can be filled with jam, curd or even Nutella before rolling up. You will then by shown how to cut, fill and decorate your Red Velvet Cake, but you can create your own finishing touches to your cake too.
The class is suitable for children aged between 7 to 15 years. The accompanying adult must be at least 18 years old and can be a parent, grandparent, guardian, sibling or any other special person in a child’s life.
All materials included and cost is based on 2 people. Refreshments are also provided.
Attendees will take home all the items that they have made.
Red Velvet Cake – 10 portions
Swiss Roll – 8 portions
